“The Free Methodist Church was begun in Britain in 1971 birthed out of a desire to restore the values of the Church established through John Wesley and others. It was felt that, over time, the power of that Church had been weakened by compromise which had led people to search for other ways of finding a fulfilling life.
King’s Church was begun in 1986 and was a plant from Fulwood Free Methodist Church. The first pastor was Phil Talbot. We officially became a church on the 250th celebration of John Wesley’s conversion. Geoff Williams was the pastor for twenty years and Mike Faun has been the pastor for two years. Mike has sensed God’s vision for King’s is “To be a Relevant Church in a Real World”.
The life of King’s Church has been built upon the foundation of the commandments to love God and other people and to make disciples of all nations. We have seen much growth and fruit in these areas over the years. We are a community focused church who meet in Life groups midweek and also reach out to our community every week.
We currently gather around 100 to 120 people on a Sunday morning and we are a relaxed and informal Word and Spirit church. We are thankful what God has done in the past and very excited at what He is doing now and will do in the future. We are currently looking for own accommodation in Penwortham as we step out in faith.
We invite you to join our great adventure and become a part of the King’s story……...
